A property marketplace has several people to think about. A buyer is narrowing a search. An agent is managing a listing. A service professional needs a way to be found.
I led delivery for PAYO Group Realtors and worked on the backend and cloud infrastructure behind it.
The property and the listing
The backend separates the physical property from its listing. The property holds details such as its location, features, and media. The listing carries the offer: price, availability, agent, and publication state.
That boundary matters. The building and the terms on which it is offered have different reasons to change. Keeping them separate gives the product room to handle both.
Connecting the experience
On the frontend, route-level data loading and reusable queries support property discovery. Listing cards can load independently of editorial content, with loading states for each. Buyers, agents, and administrators also have different routes through the product.
My work brought delivery, backend decisions, and the wider product requirements together. The aim was a marketplace whose different journeys could share a system without becoming the same journey.
