Someone looking at a villa is usually planning more than a place to sleep. Dates, guests, experiences, and the practical details around the trip all matter.
I led product delivery for Sands of the East, with backend engineering and cloud responsibilities.
Powered by Desturi
Sands of the East runs on Desturi, the platform it shares with Grays Stays. The frontend codebase has separate brand applications with shared UI, service calls, and data types. Desturi’s backend organizes listings and services by business.
The useful boundary is between what the brands share and what their guests need to see. Common accommodation and experience services sit underneath a distinct public site.
From a stay to an enquiry
The accommodation page connects an availability calendar to an enquiry flow. Selected dates carry into the next step alongside guest and contact details. The guest does not have to start again after choosing a stay.
For me, this work connects the product journey with the system supporting it: the page, the availability information, and the enquiry need to stay in step.
